We provide insightful guidance throughout the Building Application/Approval process, so you don't have to worry about confusing paperwork or tedious details.

We can submit Building Application/Approval plans so that you can obtain a Building Permit through the council to build what MADBRD have designed on your behalf. MADBRD will solve any issues during your building journey, we go above and beyond to make this whole process easy and non-stressful.

Building Application Pre-Approval

Interested in fast-tracking your project?

Mad Building and Renovation Designs provide a Pre-Approval process with our Certifier.

The Pre Approval process highlights anything that may become an issue within the proposed plans and will ensure the Council can pass your Building Application when submitted.

Within the Pre- Approval process, our designer will work with you to understand any challenges, create a resolution, and then move on to the next stage within the engineering.

On completion of the engineering plans, we will submit your Building Application (design plans) to the Certifier for final Certification/Approval, and your Building Permit will be issued.

To obtain formal consent for your Building Application/Approval, you must submit a Building Application (BA) Plan to a Certifier. Your Building Application must adhere to specific National Construction Codes and local council codes, and every Council will have its requirements.

Once you have your Building Approval (Building Permit) from your Certifier, your Builder can start building your project off your newly designed plans.

Building Application(BA) approval is required for the following:

Additions, Extensions and Renovations
Demolish Existing and Building New
Carports, Flyover patios
Raise and builds
New builds
10% of the Front Facade changes
adding a deck, retaining walls over 1m

Fees and Charges

The cost of filing a Building Application or Building Approval Plans with your local council can vary depending on the size and type of project proposed. When you lodge your application, you must pay an associated fee.

The review process conducted by the council takes into account zoning regulations, local environment plans, development control plans, land use regulations and other impacts.

We provide help in making sure that all the necessary paperwork is correctly supplied to the local council for review.

Our Designer will assist with advising if your project requires Development Applications.
